Plans to axe unused Borders buses

Plans have been revealed to axe underused Borders bus services.

The proposals from Scottish Borders Council include cancelling several money-losing routes as well as reducing timetables on others. They say some services have low passenger numbers, high running costs and don't meet the needs of communities.

Councillor Gordon Edgar, spokesman for road and infrastructure, told us:

"The number of passengers using the routes is falling and the cost doesn't reflect the usage.
