England all-rounder Ben Stokes has collected his OBE from the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace.
It's the latest in a string of successes and awards for the 28-year-old who grew up in Cockermouth.
A remarkable 2019 saw him guide England to World Cup glory and play one of the all-time great rearguard test innings to lead his side to an unlikely Ashes victory over Australia at Headingley.
He was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year for his summer heroics and started 2020 in the same way playing a key role in England's recent test series win in South Africa.
But the series was bittersweet for Stokes after his father Ged - a former rugby league player and coach with Workington Town and Whitehaven - was taken seriously ill in Johannesburg two days before Christmas.
