A bridge in Longtown is closed for repair work until the end of the week.
The crossing over the River Esk, which is part of the A7, was damaged after a lorry crashed into the structure in January.
HGVs have been unable to use the route since then on safety grounds, and now the road is closed in both directions for all traffic and pedestrians.
Drivers are being diverted via the M6 and the A6071, and pedestrians cannot use the bridge while engineering work is ongoing.
It is expected to be reopen on Friday 13 March at 2:30pm.
