Nine more people who tested positive for the coronavirus in Cumbria and North Lancashire have died, NHS England has confirmed.
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust say four patients have died in their hospitals, one on Monday and three on Wednesday.
They were being treated in either the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle or the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
In the south of the county and North Lancashire, a further five people have died.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust recorded two deaths on Monday and three on Wednesday.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths in UK has risen by 569, bringing the total death toll in the country to 2,921.
At the same point the day before, the Department of Health reported 2,352 Covid-19 patients had died in UK hospitals.
