A plastic recycling centre on the outskirts of Dumfries has been destroyed by a large fire.
It broke out on Sunday afternoon (May 31) at the Solway Recycling site in Shawhead.
Around 45 crew members and nine appliances were in attendance as the flames took hold of the centre as well as a nearby residential home.
Dumfries and Galloway Police were at the scene, assisting fire crews, and are asking members of the public to avoid the area.
At the peak of the fire, thick black smoke could be seen for miles.
The site recycles waste plastic into products such as hen houses and sheep pens.
