'Bookshops are the best place to discover books'

The owner of a Borders bookshop is encouraging shoppers to buy books from the shelves when they see them, rather than online.

Rosamund De La Hey, who owns The Mainstreet Trading Company bookshop and cafe in St Boswells, is supporting the Books are my Bag campaign.

Three writers in residence were at the shop on Saturday (October 11th) to lend their support.

Children's author supports bookshop campaign

A children's author is supporting a campaign to encourage shoppers to use bookshops.

Catherine Rayner writes and illustrates books for children. She was at the Books are my Bag event in St Boswells on Saturday 11th October.

She says that bookshops provide a unique experience.

A Borders bookshop has been involved in a campaign encouraging people to buy their novels from shops on the high street.

The Mainstreet Trading Company in St Bowells had writers and illustrators in the shop to sign their books.

Maggie O’Farrell, Vivian French & Catherine Rayner helped to launch the Books are my Bag event.

It was part of a nationwide campaign encouraging people to buy from bookshops
