Princess Anne has visited a whisky distillery as part of her official tour of Cumbria.
Founder and managing director of The Lakes Distillery, Paul Currie, welcomed her Royal Highness Princess Anne to the distillery’s picturesque setting overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake today before inviting her to tour the £7m development.
Princess Anne visited the stillroom where The Lakes Vodka, Gin and Single Malt is produced, as well as the Bistro at the Lakes Distillery before unveiling a plaque in the courtyard to mark its official opening.

Following her visit to Save The Children this morning, Princess Anne greeted people from the Carlisle Citizens Advice Bureau.
Glasses will be raised to a royal visitor in Cumbria today as the Princess Royal officially opens the Lakes Distillery near Bassenthwaite. It's England's largest whisky distillery.
Princess Anne will also visit the Save the Children shop in Carlisle and call into CN Group in Carlisle to mark 200 years of the Cumberland News
