A683 blocked after HGV crashes into telegraph poles

The A683 was blocked in both directions for more than four hours after a lorry crashed into a number of telegraph poles near Middleton Bridge.

Between Kirkby Lonsdale and Lane Ends, the road is closed to heavy vehicles.

The lorry has now been removed and the road has re-opened.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The A685 Ash Fell Road has been reopened both ways following a traffic incident involving a cyclist.

Traffic has returned to normal and the accident has been cleared between A683 (Kirkby Stephen) and Mill Street (Ravenstonedale).

A male cyclist reportedly fell off his bike on Ash Fell Road, Kirkby Stephen, at 10:30am on Monday 25 September.

The road was blocked both ways while emergency services attend the scene.
