Six people were rushed to hospital after a series of accidents in the Scottish Borders.
Two women aged 95 and 70 were taken to Borders General Hospital after a three-vehicle collision on the A68 at Newton St Boswells around 3pm this afternoon.
Another passenger was taken to hospital after being cut free from the car.
The road was closed for three hours.
At a second accident on the B634 near Greenlaw, two drivers had to be cut free from their cars.
A 21-year-old man was airlifted to hospital in Edinburgh and a 45-year-old was taken to the Borders General Hospital.
Another driver had to be cut free and airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after their car left the Coldstream to Berwick road and hit an electricity pylon early this morning.
