Talks have started on plans to relocate Golden Eagle chicks to the South of Scotland.

The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project is looking at the possibility of transferring birds from the Highlands as early as next year.

There are more than 500 pairs of Golden Eagles in Scotland, a 15% rise since 2003.

But it's thought there are no more than four of these pairs in the South of Scotland.
