The Princess Royal is visiting Dumfries today to unveil a sculpture of poet Robert Burns.
"Robert Burns' Rock" was gifted by The People's Project to the people of Dumfries and Galloway to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
The sculpture, which sits opposite the statue of Burns' wife Jean Armour near to St. Michael Street, has been created from Dumfries sandstone by David Little.
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will represent the Queen at a Thanksgiving Service to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee at Melrose Parish church on Tuesday 11 September. Afterwards she will attend a reception hosted by Scottish Borders Council.
Princess Anne will meet with representatives of local voluntary organisations and present British Empire Medals to two new Lord-Lieutenants who represent the crown in every county in the UK.
