WATCH: Borders skatepark approved

Plans for a controversial skatepark have been approved by Scottish Borders Council despite several complaints from neighbouring residents.

The proposed site for the £200,000 project is near Jedburgh Town Centre.

Controversial plans for a skatepark in Jedburgh have been approved.

Councillors have given the go-ahead to a community group who want to build a park for skaters and bikers in an area known locally as the dip.

But some nearby residents say it will spoil views of the abbey and create noise.

Police investigate Millom skatepark vandalism

Police in Millom are investigating damage to a local skatepark and equipment.

The park, set up for young people by local businesses, was damaged between 6:30 and 6:45am on Saturday 29th June.

Four people were seen getting out of a red car and attacking equipment at the Devonshire Road Industrial Estate.
