Man left with stab injury in Carlisle

A 29-year-old man was left with a stab injury after an incident involving a number of men in Carlisle.

It happened on the evening of Saturday 30 June in the South Street/Botchergate area of the city.

The man suffered the injury to his side and attended hospital but has since been discharged. It is not known what was used to cause the injury.

Man arrested after stabbing in Whitehaven

A man is stable in hospital after being stabbed in a pub in Whitehaven.

It happened at the Three Tuns in Duke Street in the town at around 10:40pm on Saturday 1st October.

A man has been arrested by Cumbria Police, which is appealing for any witnesses to get in touch. The force wants to hear from anyone who saw the suspect or the victim in the time leading up to the stabbing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and ask for Detective Sgt Jim Rooney or Detective Constable David Matthews.

Keswick stabbing: Man charged

Police have charged a man with after a man was stabbed in Keswick last week.

Benjamin Davis Bland, aged 29 from Miners Way, Keswick was charged with Section 18 wounding. He will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 27 August 2012.

Just after 9pm on Monday 4 June, police were called by the ambulance service to reports that a man had been stabbed in Keswick. Officers found a 21 year old man from Cockermouth with serious stab injuries to his shoulder in St John’s Street.

The victim underwent surgery at the Cumberland Infirmary. Another man, who is 22 year old and from the town was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains on police bail until 4 July 2012.
