Police investigate quad bike thefts in Borders

A quad bike's been stolen from a farm in the Scottish Borders which has led the police to issue fresh warnings.

They say a number of quad bikes have been taken from farms since the start of 2014.

In this latest incident, a bike worth about £3,000 disappeared from a shed at Flemington Farm in West Linton sometime between 5.30pm on 19th April and 7am on 20th April.

There have been a significant increase in the theft of quad bikes from rural locations since the turn of the year, and sadly this is another such incident.

“Farm owners are reminded to make sure all vehicles are securely locked away when not in use, and members of the public are urged to get in touch with any details that may assist our investigations.”
