Britain's Energy Coast have called for urgent efforts to resolve the differences which threaten the Pow Beck Community Stadium development in Whitehaven.
Rt Hon Brian Wilson, Chairman of Britain's Energy Coast, who are backing the build, said:
"I want to make our position absolutely clear: our support for Pow Beck has never wavered. There is £4.5 million available if there is a project to support. We are not in the front line of negotiations but we are willing to act as honest brokers."
"It would be deeply disappointing for the whole community if the Pow Beck Community Stadium project, and all that hangs on it, was to fall through at this stage. At our Board meeting last week, Britain's EnergyCoast was appraised of the latest difficulties that have arisen which are regrettable to say the least. However, we remain committed to the project and stand ready to offer as much assistance as possible to bring it to a successful conclusion".
