Hundreds of local people will carry the Olympic torch through the Scottish Borders on its relay from Edinburgh to Alnwick.

Scottish Rugby legend Chris Paterson, was one of the torch bearers he said: "I remember running relay races and sprints on this very pitch when it was grass, it makes it so special, a big smile on my face.

"It was only 300 metres but you come in here and see kids involved in this, the sports stars of the future, and that is what is important"

Michael Moore MP added: "It has had a big show in the Borders, people here can say they came out to see it and I think it will live with them for a very long time."
