Legendary fell runner Joss Naylor is taking on the peaks of Cumbria once again, as he attempts to complete a full series of runs in the Lake District Mountain Trial.

The 77-year-old is making the most of the occasion by raising money for Ambleside based charity Brathay Trust.

Mr Naylor used the internet to encourage fellow running enthusiasts to place online bids, in order to secure a place alongside him.

Ms Nicky Butler, a schoolteacher from Carlisle, and Mr Phil Mather, from Lancaster, were the two highest bidders.

Mark Bushell, from Brathay Trust said:

"They can't wait for Friday to come. To say that they are excited about running with their fell running hero is an understatement. After all he is running royalty and to them this is a priceless opportunity."
