Dumfriesshire MSP encourages votes for 'Rural Oscars'

Dumfriesshire MSP Elaine Murray is urging the local community to start nominating people for the Countryside Alliance Awards.

The awards, nicknamed the 'Rural Oscars', are now in their eighth year and are designed to help support and promote rural communities.

They celebrate the local food and farming industries and recognise small businesses who use traditional skills to help their businesses grow.

"These Awards are an excellent way to promote the local businessmen and women who are working hard to keep rural Britain ticking.

"Our local produce is second to none and there are many community heroes and businesses worthy of national recognition, so please get involved and nominate today.
