The Scottish Environment Protection has issued a flood alert, its lowest level of warning, for Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. Heavy rain is forecast on Sunday night and Monday morning and river levels are expected to remain high.
The ground is already saturated after days of heavy rain and SEPA is warning there could be further flooding to low lying land and roads and travel disruption.
