An eight month long tree-felling programme is underway at Glentress Forest in the Scottish Borders.
An area the size of 150 football pitches is being thinned to help the forest structure and allow wildlife to thrive. Some trails will be disrupted during the works, but the forestry commission is urging visitors to continuing enjoying the area.
