Nominations needed for community awards

The achievements of community groups and individuals in Nithsdale are being celebrated at an awards ceremony.

Nominations are now needed for the Nithsdale Community Achievement Awards 2015 taking place at Dumfries' Easterbrook Hall on 28 March.

The awards recognise and celebrate the positive role played by a host of people and groups in the Nithsdale area from adult learners to community volunteers.

There are nine award categories, with each award having three finalists

The award categories for 2015 are:

  • Adult Learner of the Year
  • Young Person of the Year
  • School and Learning community Award
  • Adult Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Parent/Carer Participation Award
  • Health and Wellbeing Award
  • Innovative Practice Award
