Carlisle hammer thrower Nick Miller eased his way into the final at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, with a throw of 77.44 metres.

The 22-year-old needed just one attempt during qualifications at the Bird's Nest. His throw was just short of the 77.55 metres he threw last month to break the 31-year-old British record. The Commonwealth Games silver medallist will compete in the final tomorrow.

Last month Nick was back home from studying in America and training at the Sheepmount Stadium in Carlisle. Hannah McNulty caught up with him, watch her report again here
