Seven flood alerts issued for Cumbria

Seven flood alerts have been issued for Cumbria.

The flood alerts, issued by the Environment Agency, mean that 'flooding is possible' and residents should 'be prepared'.

The areas affected by the flood alerts are:

  • Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
  • Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent
  • Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
  • Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water
  • Rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk
  • Rivers Greta, St Johns Beck and Bassenthwaite Lake
  • Rivers Kent and Bela
