The new Ukip leader, Paul Nuttall, has been campaigning in Copeland today ahead of next month's by-election.

He told ITV Border that he was wrong to have spoken in favour of NHS privatisation in the past and pledged his party's support for a new nuclear development at Moorside.

This has always been a party that has supported nuclear power. We are 100% behind it. We want £20billion worth of investment in this seat and 20,000 new jobs. What we would also like to see is HS2 cancelled - save another £100billion and ensure that money is pumped into local transport network."
