A ten-year-old boy is in a 'stable' condition in hospital, after being rescued by the Great North Air Ambulance over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The boy crashed into a metal post while riding his bike in Flimby, and was treated for potential head and chest injuries before being airlifted to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool within 30 minutes.

A spokesperson for the air ambulance said the boy's mother has now been in touch, to say that his CT scan has come back all clear, showing he has made a full recovery.
