Bomb disposal team destroy 'historic ammunition' in Lauder

A bomb disposal team has destroyed 'historic ammunition' at a property in Lauder, in the Scottish Borders.

Police were called at 7:15pm on Saturday 27 May, to an address on Edinburgh Road, and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit destroyed the device later that night.

The device is believed to have been found in a garden.

Police have thanked the local community for their cooperation in the handling of the matter.
