Scotland's largest free music youth event returns to Dumfries this year.

The Youth Beatz music festival attracts an audience of 12,000 people and features some of the country's most high profile artists.

Previous acts include Professor Green, Cascada, James Arthur, Amelia Lily, Tinchy Stryder, Emma's Imagination, Alexandra Burke, Chipmunk, Wagner, and N-Dubz.

This year, it will take place at Dock Park in Dumfries from 1pm to 9.30pm on Saturday, 12 August.

The festival aims to provide young people between the ages of 12 and 25, with a safe environment where they can gain information on a range of youth services available to them.

It also aims to promote skills development, build confidence and self-esteem, and foster community spirit and civic pride.

It is managed through a partnership led by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
