A recruitment drive to find new foster carers has been launched.

Cumbria County Council has enlisted the help of current foster carers to meet members of the public and tell them what fostering is all about.

The council says there is no such thing as a typical foster carer and is calling on people of all ages and backgrounds to consider signing up.

There can be some difficult, traumatic experiences that you can find out that the children have gone through.

"Just to be able to give them normal family life, just three or four meals a day, things that they're not used to, things we take for granted, which can be really beneficial."
