Police investigate gender-oriented hate crime in Cumbria

Three members of the public in their twenties were verbally abuse by a group of eight men also in their late teens to early twenties outside Longtown Primary School on Thursday 6 July around 8.30pm.

Police say the abuse was motivated by hatred towards the victims' gender and sexual orientation.

They say they are investigating the incident and that hate crime of any type will not be tolerated in Cumbria.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses and urge anyone with information to call PC 2400 Hill on 101 or email Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
