Driver who died in A7 lorry crash near Longtown named

The man who died after the heavy goods vehicle he was driving crashed off the A7 near Longtown has been named as Ian Ewart, from Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway.

Police believe the lorry crashed after the 48-year-old had a medical episode at the wheel of the HGV around 6pm on Monday 17 July.

He was unresponsive when found and died after being taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch by calling 101.
