The cast of the ITV programme Emmerdale have called for the release of six Britons, being held in prison in India for crimes they insist they didn't commit.
Among them is John Armstrong, a former soldier from Wigton. He and the others were arrested nearly four years ago by the Indian coastguard for illegally possessing firearms. They'd been working as security guards on an anti-piracy ship. The cast of Emmerdale have become the latest celebrities to speak out in support of the men, who've become known as the Chennai 6.
