Investors have expressed an interest in buying a firm in South West Scotland which closed last week with the loss of 38 jobs.

MSP Oliver Mundell said that 'early interest' had been shown in buying EME Furniture in Sanquhar and restarting manufacturing there.

It follows a meeting between politicians, local people and a representative of the company who all met to discuss the future of the site and what can be done to help the workers.

EME Furniture has been manufacturing and supplying furniture for school since 1965.
