A rally is being held in Stranraer today in support of the Galloway Community Hospital.
Protesters will be gathering in Castle Square at noon.
The event will coincide with rallies in other rural parts of Scotland which aim to put pressure on the NHS in Scotland to maintain health services in smaller communities.
In July, one of the Galloway Community Hospital's two in-patient wards was closed for a week.
There has also been criticism of the lack of anaesthetic cover in the emergency department of the hospital over the summer.
Bosses put the problems at the hospital down to staffing issues.
NHS Dumfries and Galloway refused to comment on today's rally.
