The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for wind, snow and ice as Storm Caroline travels across southern Scotland throughout today.

Gusts of up to 80mph are predicted between 6am and 6pm, brining large waves or spray to coastal communities. Public transport delays and cancellations are possible, with some short term loss of power.

Heavy rain and cold temperatures between 4pm and 11.59pm are expected to bring ice onto untreated surfaces. Showers may turn into sleet or snow, which will develop over the weekend.
