The Dumfriesshire based Halo Trust is the latest charity to face questions about the conduct of a member of staff.

The charity, which has its global headquarters in Thornhill, clears land mines around the world.

It says a member of staff in Myanmar has been suspended following an allegation of sexual assault, which he denies.

A member of staff was suspended in January this year and is currently being investigated following an allegation of sexual assault. He denies the allegation. The local British Embassy and Department for International Development were informed within 24 hours of the allegation. The Charity Commission has been informed. We take such allegations extremely seriously."
