Cumbrian cyclist breaks Europe cycle record

A Cumbrian cyclist has broken a Europe cycle record for the fastest time to cycle from Portugal to Ufa on the eastern edge of Europe.

37-year-old Sean Conway from Coniston had a final time of 24 days, 18 hours and 39 minutes.

This was nine hours ahead of previous record holder, Jonas Deichmann, who covered the same route in 2017.
