A man was airlifted to hospital after falling while walking in the Lake District earlier today.
The man suffered leg injuries when he slipped on Hart Crag close to Place Fell where he was hiking with friends and family.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out by the North West Ambulance Service.
They were on a practice exercise nearby and were able to reach the injured man quickly.
The man was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary aboard an RAF helicopter for treatment.
