Platoon Sergeant Spencer John Davies, otherwise known as Taff, is planning a gruelling physical challenge to raise money. In June he will run or speed march for 24 hours non-stop. The idea came to him while on a recent seven month tour of duty in Afghanistan. He is based at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate and his challenge includes running or marching a 3.2k circuit wearing fully army attire and carrying 15kg. He is expected to run over 120 miles, which is the equivalent of around five marathons. The charities he is raising money for are Help for Heroes, Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK and NSPCC.
