Thirsk woman jailed for murder of terminally ill man

A Thirsk woman has today (Friday 5 June 2015) been sentenced to life imprisonment, to serve a minimum of nine years, for the murder of a terminally ill man at a care home in Sowerby near Thirsk.

Heather Pauline Davidson, 54, of Sowerby Road, Thirsk, previously pleaded guilty at Teesside Crown Court to murdering 81-year-old David Paterson at Sowerby House care home on 11 February 2015.

Today, the family of David Paterson have issued a statement saying their lives had been "thrown in to chaos" by the crime.
