Iconic poppy sculpture installed at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Poppies installed at the Tower of London to commemorate WWI last year have now been used in a sculpture at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP).

'Wave' at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield is from the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red – the concept created by Chesterfield-born ceramic artist Paul Cummins.

The installation has been designed by Tom Piper and will be at YSP from 5 September 2015 to 10 January 2016.

The installation was originally at HM Tower of London from August to November 2014 where 888,246 poppies were displayed, one to honour every death in the British and Colonial forces of the First World War.
