Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was injured while walking in Greenhead Park.

Yesterday evening at around 5:30pm a 15-year-old male was approached from behind by a man who stabbed him in his back and lower left arm, with a sharp object.

The suspect, who was wearing a hooded top, with the hood up, made off.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and possible motives for the attack which, fortunately, did not result in the victim being seriously hurt.
