A 51-year-old man has been convicted of kidnapping his former partner and possessing a stun gun in Sheffield.
Levi Solomon appeared at Sheffield Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to kidnap and possession of a firearm.
The court heard how Solomon, of Skelton Grove, Woodhouse, showed up at his former partner’s home in Sheffield in November last year. He threatened to kill the woman, who is in her 20s and wishes to remain anonymous, if she did not go with him back to his flat in Woodhouse. The woman agreed, fearing for her life, and he drove her to his home.
Once at his property, Solomon assaulted his victim, punching her in the face, and refused to let her leave, locking the door and threatening her with further violence.
She was only able to flee, after being trapped in the apartment for a number of hours, when Solomon fell asleep. She phoned police, who arrived to find her hysterical and terrified.
Solomon has been remanded into custody and will be sentenced on July 11th. Investigating officer Detective Constable Christopher Blincow praised Solomon's victim for her bravery in coming forward to tell of her ordeal.
