Trawlerman: Bad Brexit deal could prove catastrophic for fishing industry

Failure to negotiate a suitable Brexit deal for fishermen could prove catastrophic for the region's trawlermen, according the owner of one of Whitby's last remaining large fishing boats.

One of the central issues to the referendum debate, EU rules and restrictions on British boats, have long been blamed for the demise of the industry.

Now, Richard Brewer, a fifth generation fisherman, says that agreeing a deal that suits our trawlermen as we pull out of Europe could be the last chance to save the industry.
