88-year-old man robbed whilst in town on mobility scooter

Police in East Yorkshire are investigating the robbery of a pensioner on his mobility scooter in Driffield.

The incident took place at about 10.50am on Thursday 17 November on Market Place in Driffield close to the mini roundabout at the junction with George Street.

An 88-year-old man was out on his mobility scooter with a friend when he was bumped into in quick succession by an unknown man and woman.

A short time later the victim noticed £600 he had withdrawn for new glasses was missing from his inside pocket.

It is believed the money was stolen in the earlier collision.

The first suspect is said to be a white woman, aged 45 -55 and was wearing a distinctive yellow and brown mottled long coat. The second suspect is a man aged 30-45 and was wearing a black dress suit and a black beany hat.
