Former Bulls owner Khan: Bradford can be a success again

The former owner of the Bradford Bulls has urged someone to start a new club in the city

The Bulls were liquidated yesterdayafter being in administration since November.

All staff at the club have been served redundancy notices but The RFL has announced that there will be a Bradford rugby league side in the city and have invited interested parties to come forward.

Bradford businessman Omar Khan, who saved the club from liquidation and then later sold it in 2013, says a new side would have the potential for a Super League return.

I think what you need is passion and deep pockets and know how to run a Super League club. At the moment it's in the championship but it has potential to be up there and one of the best clubs.

Meanwhile sport finance expert Rob Wilson said that the liquidation of the Bradford Bulls could just be 'the tip of the iceberg' as rugby league clubs continue to struggle financially.
