Planners reject Lincoln waste plant

Planners have advised councillors to reject an application for a waste processing plant in Lincoln.

The company Veolia, which held an information event in Lincoln yesterday, wants to build a waste transfer plant on Long Leys Road, to shred waste and generate electricity.

Planners though say they have concerns about the company being able to operate 24 hours a day, as well as potential associated noise.

The plans are due to be discussed again at a county council meeting next month.
