April is an interesting month from a meteorological perspective. It all depends which way the wind blows from; the sun is gaining strength now so a southerly wind will bring some relatively high temperatures whereas if the wind comes from a northerly quarter, the Arctic it's still very cold so that will bring some very low temperatures with overnight frost. For sure the temperatures are going to climb over the weekend nudging 70 Fahrenheit on Sunday (21 ºC) but on Monday by contrast temperatures will plummet again as the wind swings round to the north-west
Next week, leading up to Easter, will be a little more unsettled with occasional April showers, mainly in Pennine districts. The best of the sunny breaks will be east of the Pennines and it will be windy at times making it feel cool.
Easter itself is a long way off weather-wise but at the moment it looks pretty much fine for our neck of the woods but a little on the cool side, rather like this last week in fact.
