Chesterfield FC have sacked manager Gary Caldwell after just eight months in charge.

The Spireites are second from bottom in League Two and have won only one of their first 10 games of the season. The club announced his departure after the 2-1 home defeat against Accrington Stanley.

Gary has worked very hard during his time at the club, but we find ourselves in a lowly position after providing him with substantial backing in the transfer market.

After making a very poor start to the season, we feel that now is the time to appoint a new manager to bring about a change in fortunes.
