Dozens of football fans have pitched up at Scunthorpe United's stadium to clear the playing surface and surrounding streets.

The club appealed for volunteers to clear the snow in the hope their game against Oldham Athletic at Glanford Park can go ahead tomorrow.

The Iron asked people to bring their plastic shovels in a last ditch bid to help ground staff from around 8am.

The weather conditions have caused several sporting events involving teams in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire to be cancelled or postponed already.
