Europe's first ever pop-up Shakespearean theatre is set to open in York.

With the stage set for its grand opening next week, ITV Calendar has been given exclusive access to rehearsals for its series of summer shows.

The newly-built Rose Theatre, which is situated next to Clifford's Tower, took 11,000 man hours to construct from state-of-the-art scaffolding and 19 days to complete.

It will stage four Shakespearean plays including 'A Midsummer Nights Dream' before being dismantled later in the year.
